Male & Female

Estimated Date of Birth: 11/10/17 & 11/8/2019

Meet Gucci and Mimi, two inseparable dogs who have spent their lives together with their loving owner, Andy.

Gucci, a 7 year-old spunky and sweet male pittie mix, and Mimi, a 5 year-old gentle and playful female pittie mix, had been Andy’s companions through thick and thin. They’d seen him through life’s ups and downs, always by his side, offering comfort and unconditional love.

For Andy, Gucci and Mimi were more than just pets. They were family. Whether it was walking through the park, curling up on the couch, or playing in the backyard, these two dogs brought joy and companionship to him every day. Their presence filled his home with warmth and laughter.

But in recent months, Andy’s health had begun to decline. He had been diagnosed with terminal cancer, and the prognosis was grim. He found himself in and out of the hospital, and his strength was fading with each passing day. Andy made the hard decision to surrender his beloved pets Gucci and Mimi to an animal shelter to ensure they would be safe and cared for in the future. After careful consideration on which shelter to take them to, he decided Naperville Area Humane Society would be the best fit.

Known for its compassionate care and dedication to finding loving homes for animals in need, Andy worked with our team on a detailed plan to make Gucci and Mimi’s stay at NAHS the most comfortable.

On February 16, our shelter welcomed Gucci and Mimi with open arms, promising Andy we would find the perfect family for them. Andy’s heart broke as he hugged them goodbye, but he knew that this was the best option for their well-being.

Now in our care, Gucci and Mimi have quickly become favorites here at our shelter. The shelter staff and volunteers have been captivated by their bond, their playful energy, and their affectionate nature.

Gucci and Mimi are looking for a new home, one where they can stay together and continue the journey of companionship and love. They are searching for a family who will provide them with the care and attention they deserve, and they hope to find a home that will offer the stability they need to heal from the loss of their loving owner.

Both dogs are good with children and other dogs, and they are well-trained. Gucci and Mimi enjoy getting belly rubs, playing tug together with their toys, and going for walks.

We’re grateful to Andy for his devoted love to Gucci and Mimi and for trusting us with their care.

While Andy’s battle with cancer continues, he takes comfort in knowing that Gucci and Mimi are being cared for. He knows they are in good hands, and that they will have the chance to be loved and spoiled in a new home.

Please help us fulfill Andy’s wish to place Gucci and Mimi back in a loving home together.

If you are interested in opening up your home and heart to two sweet, affectionate, and well-behaved dogs who simply want a second chance at happiness, please stop by our shelter to meet with Gucci and Mimi today.
